A New Look and Improved Capabilities: The 2025 Ford Maverick

The 2025 Ford Maverick receives a host of improvements for the new model year, modernizing its design and adding capabilities customers demanded, such as all-wheel drive hybrid models and a more advanced infotainment system. Here is a closer look:

A new face

The 2025 Ford Maverick has received a new front end design that is inspired by the recently unveiled 2025 Explorer. This includes a new grille, a reworked front bumper, and new inverted checkmark LED headlamps that make the new model stand out from its predecessor at first sight. New alloy wheels and paint colours are also available. Inside, the 2025 Maverick features two new upholstery colours: brown with bronze accents and a combination of blue and cream hues. The dashboard also now features a larger 13,2-inch infotainment screen as standard instead of the former 8-inch unit.

AWD and 4K towing for the hybrid

The main news about the 2025 Ford Maverick is the addition of an optional all-wheel drive system with the hybrid powertrain. While it was previously only available with front-wheel drive, the fuel-efficient electrified engine of the Maverick hybrid can now power all four wheels, making it just as competent as the EcoBoost model on slippery roads. Furthermore, the hybrid system can now also be paired with the 4K towing package which brings the towing capacity of the Maverick up to 4,000 pounds, the same as with the trucks powered by the gasoline engine.

More technologies

The 2025 Ford Maverick brings new technologies along with its other changes, including a new infotainment system. Indeed, the larger center screen houses the SYNC 4 system which features 5G capability and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a number of other advanced connectivity features. Other new technologies include the pro Trailer Assist system which makes reversing a trailer much easier, and the Pro Trailer hitch Assist feature which helps the driver to line up the trailer’s hitch without requiring a second person.

The Temor and Lobo trim levels

The 2025 Ford Maverick also gains two new trim levels that extend its appeal to new buyers. First is the Tremor version, which focuses on off-road driving and a more rugged appearance. Previously available as an option package only, this new version features unique wheels and orange accents. The other new trim level is the Lobo, a modern take on the Street Trucks of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. With its exclusive wheels, reworked grille and rocker mouldings, this truck is high on style. This performance image is backed up buy the inclusion of the EcoBoost engine as standard, along with a lowered suspension and sports-tuned shock absorbers, a torque-vectoring rear axle from the Bronco Sport and larger brakes from the European Focus ST performance hatchback.
